This is a still from a recent shoot I did with ttweak. We’re producing a short doc about Stephen Klineberg, a sociology professor at Rice University. Stephen has been gathering survey data of Houston for the last 28 years and has measured everything from population changes to attitudes towards gay rights. In addition to BROLL and interviews with Stephen, we are going to tell the story of his study of Houston by collaborating with data visualization artists.
Stephen is a very engaging speaker and I thought the best way to capture his excitement on camera was by using an Errol Morris “interrotron.” We rented two teleprompters and used two cameras for the setup. It came off really great. I’ll be going through the footage of our first shoot soon and hope to post a rough cut next month.
Shot with an EX1 with a Letus Extreme 35mm adapter and Nikon lenses.
